Getting started
Understanding coaching
What is coaching?
Serious psychological coaching is aimed exclusively at healthy people, to support them with private or professional challenges. Within the coaching process, problematic behaviours that trouble the coachee and limit them on the way to their goals or in everyday life are worked through systematically. In coaching at EVOQUE, we look together at the root of the problem and create a lasting, healthy change in behaviour with the help of psychologically grounded and scientific methods.
More about the approach
Especially with long-standing issues, patterns and disruptive behaviours have often become entrenched over years. That is why it is important to address the cause of a topic before moving on to solving the problem. It is therefore central to allow enough time for a coaching process, in order to work through topics in depth and thus create a lasting change in behaviour. At EVOQUE, great importance is placed on tackling issues systematically. Clients should first understand and reflect on their own behaviour. This method takes time and practice, yet it is considerably more effective than simple tips.
Topics & concerns
What people come to me with
Common concerns – and room for your personal topic.
Disclaimer Coaching is not training, therapy or medical treatment. It is therefore not suitable for clinically relevant topics. Coaching is also not purely the transfer of knowledge. Psychoeducation is used in a targeted and practical way. Coaching primarily serves goal achievement and lasting behaviour change with the help of psychologically grounded methods.
The process
Your path to your goal
- 01
Intro call
We look at where your problem shows up. First we clarify how, when and why the behaviour exists.
- 02
Root-cause exploration
We look at where the behaviour might have originated. Understanding is the central basis for change.
- 03
Setting goals
We define your goal and the path towards it.
- 04
Hands-on application
We apply first practical exercises to gradually turn your old patterns into positive behavioural outcomes.
- 05
Reflection
Change is a continuous process. We reflect together and refine wherever things are not yet working.
- 06
Lasting goal achievement
Ideally, by the end of our coaching you will already have reached your goal. If not, you will have gathered all the tools along the way to keep exploring on your own.
What matters to me
In coaching I am your companion on your way to your goal. Together we create a goal plan that is realistic and achievable for you. For our work to succeed, my wish is that you bring a clear will to change something about your current situation.
The difference
Why grounded methods achieve more
Whether group settings or unstructured individual sessions – much often stays on the surface. I support you on a psychologically and scientifically grounded basis, so that you truly reach your goal for good.
Tips in a group
Quick tips in a crowded setting. Afterwards you are left alone with your topic again.
- Personal issues in an open round
- Your topic does not get the space it needs
- Hardly any individual focus
- Comparison with others can add to your burden
- Left on your own after the session
Guidance with a foundation
Real guidance, tailored holistically to you. Psychologically grounded, scientific methods. I stay by your side until you have reached your goal.
- Psychologically grounded and scientifically recognised methods
- Continuous guidance all the way to your goal
- Root-cause work – treating the problem at its source
- Your topic gets the time and space it deserves
- Individually tailored to you through preparation and follow-up
- Regular supervision to safeguard the quality of the coaching
Single sessions
Loose single sessions without structure, without a common thread, without a grounded background. The topic often returns quickly.
- Quick, superficial tips instead of real root-cause work
- Single sessions instead of in-depth guidance
- Rarely psychologically and scientifically grounded
- No reliable anchor after the coaching ends
- Topics often come back over time
Good to know
Coaching – not therapy.
How does coaching differ from psychotherapy?
Coaching is explicitly not suitable for the treatment or cure of psychotherapeutic conditions. Coaching does not explore the past of a problematic behaviour to a psychotherapeutic depth. Coaching is about changing the behavioural consequences in the here and now and shaping them into positive behavioural patterns that are useful to the coachee. Coaching can be used as a supportive measure alongside psychotherapy; this is clarified individually according to the situation. Should you be diagnosed with a relevant psychotherapeutic condition before or during the coaching process, I ask you to inform me without delay. Should such tendencies emerge over the course of the coaching, you will be advised accordingly.
Important note EVOQUE does not constitute therapy or medical treatment for therapeutic concerns.
